A closer look at the journey ahead..

Every year on the 6th of January, the villages of Cansaulim, Arossim, and Cuelim celebrate one of Goa’s most fascinating and deeply rooted traditions, the Three Kings Festival, also known as the Feast of Epiphany. This festival commemorates the biblical story of the Three Wise Men visiting the newborn Christ, but in Goa, it has taken on a unique cultural identity of its own. Three boys from the villages are chosen to become the “Kings” for the day, riding on beautifully decorated horses as they lead a grand procession to the hilltop chapel. The locals believe the hill carries ancient spiritual energy and legends—making the festival a beautiful mix of faith, folklore, and community celebration. Our Three Kings Festival Experience invites you to go beyond the feast-day crowds and dive into the heart of these age-old customs. Walk through scenic villages, learn about the origins of the festival, visit the iconic 3 Kings Chapel, and experience local traditions that have been passed down for generations. Enjoy traditional Goan hospitality with festive snacks, live serenading, and a guided experience that brings alive the stories behind one of Goa’s most culturally rich feasts. ▪ Note: This is a partly walking trail with moderate uphill sections to the chapel. ▪ Duration: 4.5 hrs ▪ Start point: St. Thomas Church, Cansaulim ▪ Start time: 7 AM Recommended Add-on (Charged Additionally): Enjoy a traditional Goan lunch at a local home after the trail.
