Trail Overview

Saligao happens to be a beautiful village in North Goa you will pass by without ever noticing its true colors. A 'Paasai' is  a leisurely evening walk that is very common in Goa. It is relaxing, interesting and can offer tiny surprises on the way. This quaint village has interesting stories, local legends and also an array of beautiful houses along narrow scenic lanes.

One of the most unique churches of Goa, The Gothic Mãe De Deus Church built in 1873 and the ancestral houses have created a niche for itself in this picturesque village. We explore the village on foot through its houses and the culture of the village. Are you ready for your Paasai?

Who were the original settlers of this village? How does this village get its name? Why does a ward in this village have villagers with the same middle name? Come find out!
